Large DB's & Metadata Management
We use a DB that has well over 7 million objects, which causes Redgate to crash due to the excessive memory usage. We've got around the crashing by amending the element <MaxSupportedColumns>-1</MaxSupportedColumns> in RedGate_SqlPrompt_Engine_EngineOptions.xml to a desired value. However this prevents the cashing of any metadata that does not fall below the specified value. It would be good to include metadata persistence based on user preferences or pre-filtering in future releases, so it’s not all or nothing position.
I'm very curious why that database has >7m objects. Can you elaborate on that?
