DLM Dashboard

DLM Dashboard (previously called SQL Lighthouse) is a tool that monitors your database schemas in order to alert you about unexpected changes – often called database drift. Once alerted, users can choose to take remedial action. This might be to rollback the change, apply it to another database or script the change into version control. To find out more about what DLM Dashboard does and how it works, please visit our “website”: http://www.red-gate.com/products/dlm/dlm-dashboard/.

If you have any questions or need help with Redgate’s free tool DLM Dashboard, please visit our “support forums”: http://www.red-gate.com/MessageBoard/viewforum.php?f=176.

  2. We have an old vendor that temporarily creates and deleted tables (instead of using #temp Tables), so I get notification every time the app creates and drops one of those tables...would be nice to be able to filter those out...maybe filter to ignore objects named TABLE.MultiSelect*

    Handy tool though!

    Thanks!

    [Selected] smallint NOT NULL ,
    [Fund] varchar(6) NOT NULL ,

  5. A series of changes are shown. The DBA can either approve them, or decline them, and if decline, run reversal scripts as needed? May be too complex, but would be wonderful!

  6. I added a dumb test table. Red Gate caught it. Then I deleted it. Red Gate seemed to get lost. If the change and then removal/reversion could be tracked somehow possible, meaning this was a non-event, that'd be great.

  8. SQL Agent job tracking - I would love a way to add the master database. If simple alerts can be sent on drifts for agent job changes it would be fantastic.

  9. The Schema Version Name field should be wider. We are using labeld GIT Version Numbers including the latest commit SHA Hash ti identify a unique version. This combination looks like that:
    "5.1.2-alpha.44+Branch.dev.Sha.0dfb474d340d9a0c0aa4015204860c19122192bb"
I would like to add this information as schema version name, but I can't.

  10. We tried DLM Dashboard, but it doesn't work the way I hoped. I would love to authenticate only one standard database. Then DLM Dashboard can automatically show other related database's drift against the standard database. Instead, we have to approve each database's drift. I really hope DLM Dashboard can develop these kind of functions.

  11. Can some comparison options be added to DLM Dashboard to filter out things like NOT FOR REPLICATION? I feel we should have the same control as SQL Compare

  12. Need the ability to assign Version numbers by database not across the entire instance as we monitor multiple unrelated DBs within the same instance, and be able to re-use version numbers. This may mean adding a custom grouping to selected DBs in the instance.

  13. The tool is currently alerting us to when triggers are enabled/disabled. The trigger itself isn't changing, just the status. It would be nice if the tool wouldn't see the this as a schema change.

  15. Ability to add scripts that manipulate data to do particular data activity before or after changes are made to another environment. For instance if we identified duplication of data there would be data cleansing script as well as new index. Dashboard will show the new index but script to clean data will remain in source control or folder and can easily be missed in deployment.
I am looking for single point of integration to see manual scripts as well as DDL detected changes.
Ideally all of these would be integrated with source control. For instance redgate source control allows adding…

  17. On the dashboard you can see how many changes that has been done by a particular user in a database. I think it would be great if you could filter the view on changes per user in the same way as another suggestion posted here: that you should be able to filter the dashboard on object level.

  20. Some times multiple changes occur for a database that are unrelated before a new schema can be acknowledged. I would like a method to select or group selected changes and acknowledge those changes as a particular schema while leaving the unselected changes available to be added to a different schema history.
