  1. It is common to create functions and stored procedures that have parameters with the same name as fields. Sometimes the @ is mistakenly skipped when creating a WHERE condition and you end up with something like ID = ID instead of ID = @ID. I would like intellisense that warns me about this type of error.

  3. When I have a table with multiple indexes and I want to determine if a certain column or group of columns are part of an index, I basically have to script all of the indexes.
I would like to be able to hover over an index name in the Object Explorer and have SQL Prompt display the index definition without having to script it.
    Same with constraints.

  4. If I write "drop sv_myview" and this view is used in other views (has objects, which are dependend on it) there will be great a warning: "This object has objects, depending on it. Drop anyway?" So I can first recode the dependent objects and then drop it.

  6. When you select a table from the intellisense list
Precede the table name with the database name as well
Currently it is only inserting the schema name in front of the table name
    i.e. dbo.<table name>

    It should be <database name>.<schema name>.<table name>

  7. When typing a snippet eg I type zcod I get 3 suggestions - but the top one is a merge replication conflict table definition for MSmergeConflictZZZFULLZZZcodt and the 2 below it are my own snippets starting with zcod
I don't understand why this is the case, my own suggestions that START with zcod should take precedence over an is
ms_shipped table that ends in zcod surely.
I see you recently added (I am on 9.5.11) ordering based on frequency and I never click this table as it serves no purpose so I cannot understand the behaviour.

  8. So i specifically excluded our "temp" schema from my suggestions and it works brilliantly, however, when specifically want that schema, after completing the schema name it should show me the suggestion within that schema? -
Currently my options are to remove the "don't show suggestions" for the temp schema and then add it again after this session.

  9. When putting a COUNT in a select field, the default option in intellisense is sysxmitbody.count. I understand if I have a field that contains the aggregate name in my table that you suggest it first, but I never want sysxmitbody.count - and if I do, I'd expect to go looking for it.

I feel like I've hit this problem with other aggregates as well, but can't find another example at the moment.

Not sure the best fix, maybe list all system tables after user tables and functions?

  10. It would be neat if WHERE clauses could get autocomplete suggestions with declared variables (or variables that are procedure parameters). Example:

Assume Table1 with one column Column1.

    DECLARE @Column1
    SELECT *
    FROM Table1 T
WHERE T.Column1 = (suggest @Column1, any variable that exactly matches column by name, except @)

  11. when you insert a ssf (Select * from) you select the table and correct automatically errors like WEHRE, WERE, WEHER where the user wants to say a WHERE a logical word dictionary in which, it could be done by matching characters if all the characters written are 100% or 90% matches with word WHERE whenever is the order of the characters then autochange the text for where, This also can be matched with other KEYWORDS of SQL

  12. When using SQL server 2016 with a database that has it's compatibility level set to 2012, I'm still being offered auto complete options for 2016 features. e.g. string_split

SQL Prompt needs to detect the database compatibility level and adjust it's intellisense accordingly.

  13. SQL Prompt should properly suggest table names or constraint names for DBCC CHECKCONSTRAINTS.

    The correct syntax would be:
    DBCC CHECKCONSTRAINTS('SchemaName.TableOrConstraintName')

    Currently, it suggests this way:
    DBCC CHECKCONSTRAINTS(TableName)
which only works if TableName is in the dbo schema.

  14. The following gives the warning "ORDER BY clause with constants". In this statement, "1" is not a constant, but a reference to the 1st column.

SELECT TOP (10) Field1, Field2 FROM MyTable ORDER BY 1 DESC

  17. Would it be possible to load built-in functions into the suggestions menu first (or alternatively, ignore keystrokes until the suggestion list is fully loaded)?

An example scenario is I type "max(" and it picks up the first user-defined object name from the menu. It appears the built-in functions are loaded after the user-defined objects (although they appear at the top).

In the attached file, the example is that MaxActionId will be selected when I type "max(" too quickly. This is a small but irritating problem because I have to remember to wait momentarily after typing a function name to avoid…

  18. When a date or datetime field appears in a WHERE clause, include Suggestions of the following nature and dynamically substitute them upon selection with the nondeterministic or deterministic equivalents:

(I couldn't get my table to format nicely here - please see the copy in the uploaded file.)

    (If it's currently 11am on Friday August 20 2021...)

    Suggestion Nondeterministic replacement Deterministic replacement

now GETDATE() CAST('11am 20 August 2021' AS DATETIME)
today CAST(GETDATE() AS DATE) CAST('20 August 2021' AS DATE)
    yesterday DATEADD(DAY, -1, CAST(GETDATE() AS DATE)) CAST('19 August 2021' AS DATE)
    tomorrow DATEADD(DAY, 1, CAST(GETDATE() AS DATE)) CAST('21 August 2021' AS DATE)…

  19. I would like to see intellisense provide you a list of backup devices that are created when you use the backup database key words.

Backup database [database names in drop down] to [ disk, file, Url, backup devices in dropdown]

  20. Add an option to have the DISTINCT keyword appear at the top of the suggestions list when the first few characters (DIS, DIST) are typed, ahead of any column name suggestions. Nearly every time I type DIS or DIST, I want the DISTINCT keyword and not a column name that begins with the same letters.
