Support SQL Server 2000

I still have some databases that are on SQL Server 2000 and we are not planning to upgrade these soon, but we still do some development and maintenance against these. I would like to use this tool with my SQL Server 2000 databases.

SQL Server 2000 has now been out of extended support with MS for over a year, so it is unfortunately not the case that we will consider supporting it in SOC.

    This is HUGE. Quite unlike redgate, alarming, actually. If this product is NOT compatible with SQL 2000, it should EITHER WARN OR, PREFERABLY, NOT ALLOW A USER TO CHECK IN AND/OR WORK WITH SQL 2000 DBS. Very disappointed.

    I'm using SSMS 2008 against SQL Server 2000 (MSDE) and I believe the SQL Source Control link was responsibile for causing the 2000 database instance to go in and out of recovery mode... i don't experience any of this with a 2005 instance running on the same machine. (SQL Source Control v1.0.4.1)

    I'm using it with SSMS 2005 on a SQL Server 2000 didnt experience severe problems now. Nonetheless i would prefer an official support of this server version
