Yeah, just being able to change the "Advanced Search" defaults and have those changes persist between sessions would remove probably 80% of the friction I'm experiencing with the switch from Tab History to SQL History.
I don't mind the other changes so much, but it's becoming increasingly frustrating to have to change search options every single time I do a search. My exceedingly typical use case is basically "find me that thing I vaguely remember working on a few weeks or a few months ago" and the default options don't return useful results for me. I have to filter out query versions and sort by date, and then I usually get what I'm looking for.
As a bit of an aside, I think that adding query versions to the history is a neat idea, they just happen to muddle up search results for me.
