viewhistory doesn't work anymore!
Oh, boy. At least after the last update (V 3.4.9.265) the function "View History" doesn't work anymore: it only displays:
"No history available for this database"

1 voteI do not understand this post. In SQL Prompt, you can “Turn on Prompting” from the SQL Prompt 5 menu item in SSMS. I’m not sure how this relates to SQL Source Control.

Provide the ability to Find text across scripts in SQL Multi Script
We use SQL Multi Script to organize and execute dozens of scripts for our projects but would like the ability to find a specific word across all the Scripts to Execute.
3 votesThis suggestion forum is for SQL Source Control. I have passed this feedback on to our DBA division.

Bug (shared model): Tables with extended properties still highlighted after commit.
SSC 3.1.0.4829
SQL Server 10.50.4000
Shared modelAfter adding an extended property to a table the recognition and the commit work fine. But after having committed the changes the table will be remarked as having pending changes in the object explorer of SSMS. In the commit changes tab there are no changes to commit which is correct.
Maybe also extended properties with other objects are affected.

SQL Source Control shortcomings
Let me start by saying that we've been successfully integrating Red Gate SQL compare Pro with different source control systems even before the initial release of SQL Source Control became available.
I finally now got a chance to evaluate the product (shared db model, TFS) and I believe it has several shortcomings that would make it difficult for me to justify paying for extra licenses for each developer working on the project.Commits are painfully slow.
Even if I only change one object, it takes me 2 minutes to bring up the dialog to commit this change. If understand the…
2 votesI’m declining this because it’s 2 suggestions in 1.
For 1, please vote on http://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/39019-sql-source-control/suggestions/462220-don-t-refresh-the-commit-get-latest-automatically.
For 2, SQL Source Control v3.3 now checks TFS policies on commit. :-) You can find out more information at http://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/39019-sql-source-control/suggestions/726952-evaluate-tfs-policies-rules-when-committing-db-c.

Fix the GIT integration
The git integration does not seem to work AT ALL. Add reports status code 1, delete fails because the file has already been deleted.
10 votesWe believe the Git integration is working for most customers – if you are encountering error messages, our support team at support@red-gate.com should be able to get you up and running again.

Format massive, broken queries
I'm working with a package which generates T-SQL to manage a complex object database implemented in SQL Server. One query, saved with Profiler, was over 200 pages when pasted into WORD. Once in a while these queries fail, and testing in SSMS is useful. I would like PROMPT to format the query as far as it can, rather then check for errors and then fail with no formatting.
2 votesClosing because this is a SQL Prompt suggestion, not a SQL Source Control suggestion.

Add support to SQL Source Control for generating upgrade scripts to a SQL Azure database
If you have only the SQL Source control product, you can use it to upgrade your production SQL server database. But if you switch to Azure SQL, you lose this capability. I think the option to generate upgrade scripts that are Azure compatible would be great!
20 votesWe do not recommend connecting a production database to SQL Source Control. We recommend using SQL Compare for deployment and you can deploy to Azure databases with SQL Compare.

SQL Source Control toolbar named 'Red Gate'
I think the toolbar should be named something other than 'Red Gate' - all the other RG toolbars have meaningful names : 'SQL Search', 'SQL Tab Magic'
1 voteSQL Source Control is the first application to use a single Red Gate toolbar and the other tools will follow suit as new versions are released.

outofmemoryexception
issue when adding a table with static data to SVN. Gives a System.OutOfMemoryException error.
Created a new SVN folder and re-linked to the new folder. I then setup the static data one-by-one (apart from the table with the large amounts of static data). All of them worked fine. I then added the table with the large static data and I still got the OutOfMemoryException. Please advise on what can be done.1 voteSidharth, if you are still experiencing this issue can you please email support@red-gate.com with the details and we will try to help.

Objects created WITH ENCRYPTION cause error
I am trying to get this setup on a proprietary database system. There are hundreds of SPROCS, VIEWS, etc that are created WITH ENCRYPTION -- objects that are created WITH ENCRYPTION should be ignored since theres no way to decrypt them.

add native support for Seapine Surround and...
Currently the XML hooking method for non-native Source Control Systems is not very usefull for Surround SCM. I would like to suggest maybe adding more support to it. Also when linking a database to the Source Control System It would be nice to have the option to link tables, stored procedures, views..so on to specific repositories, instead of everything going into the same place. Also to be able to rename the default folders that the tool creates in the working directory would be nice in case there is a special naming convention(for instance procedures instead of stored procedures). A moule…

When using SourceGear Vault Process or allow rename of folders done in Vault Client
When using SourceGear Vault when we create a branch for different development fork we may need to rename the folder. At present there is not a way to edit the link to the folder. We have to unlink and relink the database. If the folder is not found it would be nice to have a way to browse to an existing folder.
1 voteSQL Source Control 5.7 removes support for Sourcegear Vault as a fully-integrated version control system – when you upgrade, any databases that were linked to Vault will be unlinked. To continue working with Vault, see “Changes to SourceGear Vault integration in SQL Source Control” https://documentation.red-gate.com/display/SOC5/Changes+to+SourceGear+Vault+integration+in+SQL+Source+Control

bug - closed other SSMS still get can't open error msg about multiple copies being open
received message that source control was disabled because multiple copies of SSMS were open. Closed the other copy but source control would still not open.
1 voteHi,
SQL Source Control only checks this on SSMS startup, so you would have to start a SSMS without any other instance of SSMS open in order to have SOC available. -
Error: System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.
After linking a database an error is generated when I try to move to the "Get Latest" or "Commit Changes" tab.
1 voteRyan, we’ll contact you directly to check over a couple of things relating to this error. Thanks!

Allow comparing/synching static data from source control
Currently when you try and publish static data, it only supports comparing the data in the source database, there is no option to use source control. Can it compare directly with source control and be limited to only the tables that are configured for static data?
12 votesClosing as the request is 5 years old.
