  1. 1) SQL Compare has handy database snapshot ability to a folder. It would be great if rather than creating 1 database snapshot at a time you could tick each of the databases you'd like a snapshot created for.

    2) Would be cool if like SQL Multiscript tool, you can speficity multiple servers and databases and have the snapshots named and/or placed in folders with server and database names.

  2. When comparing a TFS Changeset in SQL Compare it will show all schema changes that are different between the Changeset and the destination, but within a TFS Changeset, there is metadata within the Changeset to indicate which specific database objects are being changed within the Changeset. It would be a huge timesaver to allow SQL Compare to be able to only select the database objects that are actually being impacted…

  3. Current behaviour: the CSV file represents null as the 8-character string “<NULL>” . e.g. If I have a table with an integer primary key column id, a varchar column a, and a varchar column b, and the table has one newly-inserted row (1, NULL, “asdf”), the CSV file would look like this:

    o “Type”,”idk”,”as”,”at”,”bs”,”b_t”
    o “In1”,”1”,”<NULL>”,””,”asdf”,””

Desired behaviour: allow the CSV file to represent null as a completely empty…

  4. In Windows operation systems it is a common way to use Control+Insert keys instead of Control+C to copy selected text.
This is necessary to support left-mouse-handed people and it's driving me crazy that it does not work within your product(s).
At least I would love to use this option when working within the Comparison to copy code from a left or right script using Ctrl+Ins.
For completeness you should also keep "Shift+Insert" for Paste and "Shift+Del" for Cut operations in mind.
    Thank you

  5. We're using MS Data Sync Services which makes heavy use of versioned tables and triggers to populate these tables. The objects are named x.x.x.xTableName (example 1.0.0.13Table and 1.0.0.13Tabledeletetrigger. The triggers to populate these objects are placed on the base table (TableName, not x.x.x.xTableName).

To create deployment scripts, I utilize filter rules to remove table names, stored procedures, UDDTs, etc.…

  6. I have TableOne in DatabaseA and DatabaseB. DatabaseA.TableOne has Trigger1,Trigger2 and Trigger3. DatabaseB.TableOne has Trigger2 and Trigger3. After all table columns are analyzed, DatabaseA.Trigger1 is compared to DatabaseB.Trigger2 and naturally they show as different. I'd like to see Trigger1 "compared" to blank, then both Trigger2s compared, ... Try to match up on trigger name and if there isn't a match, show blank
