    I too find this annoying. Dan's workaround is fine but shouldn't be needed. Let's get this one to the top of the vote list!

    Also like to see branch management. At least: Create a new branch, checkout an existing branch and merge branches and push to remote. Probably want to be able to delete a local branch also.

    yup, this is frustrating. Also, the indexer does not nicely handle databases to which the logged in user cannot connect. It logs a traceback, but why? Easier to handle this error, issue a simple warning and carry on

    As a workaround, you can launch another instance of SSMS. But generally, I agree, RG tools should work inside SSMS the way other SSMS tools work -- modeless
