Select source/select target + drag and drop removed - integration is now very poor
Along the lines of this post: http://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/141379-sql-compare-feature-suggestions/suggestions/2893526-the-integration-into-ssms-is-far-worse-then-previo
Before we could right click and choose a database to be the source or the target of the comparison. Now I find myself having to choose the target as the source then press switch and then choose another source using the "compre to" option - it's quite a step backward from the previous integration.
Sorry this has taken so long for us to update, but based on your feedback we reinstated the full SSMS integration back in SQL Compare version 10.2.

I have the same issue. My databases are typically on different servers (dev vs test vs uat) and not being able to drag-and-drop is a serious step back for me as well.

The intended behavior is for the target server to default to that of the source server. Is this working for you? All other servers should be listed in the 'recently used' section of the dropdown. We're considering reinstating the drag and drop functionality but we first need to understand the limitations of the current implementation.

In any given day I can be comparing local or remote databases, so I don't really have a "general" case so to speak.

Is your target server generally a different server or the same one as the source?
