If the generated definition could include NOT NULL as appropriate, as against the SELECT INTO making every column NULL, that would help a lot.

Thanks for the query, Daniel. Very helpful in detecting objects with now-non-existent object references, and inefficient scalar-function usages. Worth the 42 seconds it takes to run.

    Cheers!

I'd appreciate the RECOMPARE, too. Wouldn't necessarily always want source AND static data recompared, so if that could be an option, please.

Drop down would be a good start. It would also help if we could swap servers, too. I have three distinct products with servers located in three distant states, each with their own SVN repository, so changing to a connected server AND database attracts my remaining 1 vote.

I TOTALLY agree with Ludvig's comment about preventing interference with multitasking. SQL Search, SC, SSMS query editors, et al, should all be, as it were, in their own protected environment, if MS makes that possible, of course...

Long wanted this simple Diff capability. Have to, like Ludvig, save to files and use Notepad++'s Compare Add-in. There's a Diff detector in SQL Compare and Source Control - how hard could it be to port as an add-in, especially now you have the framework in place in SSMS...?

Another scenario, possibly: SQL Multi Script enables definition of a set of servers in a "family". I have three different sets defined for each nigh on completely distinct application. Would you consider extending "defined server groups" into SQL Search so that when we have selected particular databases for our search and switch to another server in the same group, DON'T swap to the default database, DO perform the same search on the same set of selected databases, bypassing any databases(s) not yet on, for example, QA or Production. I frequently want to see a Search on databases A and B on Dev, then compare that against either QA or Production for the same databases, but as my default is always master, must go about selecting db's again. Any chance you'd consider this, RG? You very kindly whacked the advert banner for paying customers, so you could probably make this a paid-customer-only feature... Thanks for any consideration.

This is also VERY applicable to the OnTime integration with SVN where at checkin, an additional ticket-search control is added to the standard TortoiseSVN UI.

We are prevented from adopting OnTime due to the lack of any ability to inform OnTime of a commit or be able to look up ticket numbers via some SSC integration.

Does this VS Gallery replacement fit the bill for the untabify need? http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/f5d2ff29-cf19-4762-b4cc-01cefbbbb471

+1 for UDFs and triggers, not just SPs, please.

For those with huge numbers of either databases or objects, please consider this an OPTION, RG. Thanks.

Up to SQL2008R2 use the free http://www.ssmstoolspack.com/ and you can script a resultset to INSERTs and search it, too. SQL2012 = $$$

    Strange!

I'm also using 3.0.13.4214 within SSMS 2008 R2 and the database clearly shows just above the "Commit" button at top-right, just below the redgate logo for SSC. Win2003R2SP2

It would assist if you'd add the SSMS and OS versions to your post.
