Support Visual Source Safe (VSS)
We are using Visual Source Safe and we really want to source control our databases. We are not upgrading or changing our source control system anytime soon. Visual Source Safe works fine for us. We do not want to install a seperate source control system just to use this tool.

Unfortunately, we will not be adding support for Visual Source Safe.

commentedusing VSS and really need easier way to source control SQL Server views and sps used heavily now in SSRS; don't want added complication of switching source control platforms now; please add VSS support to your product. Thanks!

Interesting posting on our Support Forum about VSS and TFS Basic, http://www.red-gate.com/MessageBoard/viewtopic.php?t=10574.

commentedIf you have to have VSS, you could always put your scripts into an SSMS project and use the built-in VSS integration. And if you truly care about your code base, please consider using anything other than VSS. We made the switch from VSS to SVN this past summer and we've never looked back. "Visual SourceSafe? It would be safer to print out all your code,
run it through a shredder, and set it on fire."
