  1. It would be really great if you were able to export the data to file, or document, spreadsheet. Almost a way to obtain sample data

    I’m going to close this feature request as we have removed the data explorer feature from Prompt.

  2. Allow starting a query with the FROM clause (ala LINQ) and provide intellisense normally. I would continue normally, right up to the point the user types the select update or delete keywords, at which point you either automagically reposition the keword and cursor to the top of the query, or allow the user to finish and then prompt for query restructuring. This would completely do away with the mucking around of doing a ssf and then going back later to fill in the list! In fact, I'd take it a step further and offer to restructure poorly written queries..e.g., If…

    Thank you for your suggestion.

    Ideally, we’d love to respond individually to every request, but currently we can’t due to the volume of unanswered tickets. We’re clearing up our UserVoice backlog to make it easier for us as a small team to prioritize the most valuable features moving forward. Therefore, due to a lack of recent interest in this ticket, we have decided to close it.

    If you feel strongly about it, we encourage you to create a new request.

    Thanks,

    The Prompt Team

  3. I use many "as" clauses in my selects. If I need to use a Group By clause, I can copy my Select items, but then I have to manually remove all of the "AS" clauses. It would be a dream to have them removed during a format!

    Also, what would be involved in having a "change to other favorite connection" mechanism, so I can switch my current query between production, development and test? And it would be doubly sweet if the switch also changed to my usual db on that instance. Like an Alt-Tab allows you to switch between open…

  4. When writing statements like 'ssf s [tab] [enter]' to produce the statement in exhibit A based on the prompt suggestions, the alias 's' gets interpreted as another shortcut for additional keywords as seen in exhibit B. It would be nice if SQL Prompt was aware of its own shortcuts and produced some other unique alias so it didn't collide and create parser errors

    --Exhibit A
    SELECT * FROM config.Service AS S

    --Exhibit B
    SELECT * FROM config.Service AS SELECT

    I’m going to close this request because it looks like this was only an issue when the SSMS Tools Pack was installed – the solution was to disable snippets in the tools pack. If you’re still having problems with its snippets disabled then let me know.

  5. I have been using SQL Prompt with SQL Server for quite a while and have gotten use to the features. I now work with SQL Server CE within Visual Studio and don't get to take advantage of the SQL Prompt features. It would be nice if SQL Prompt worked in the SQL editor in Visual Studio when using sqlce files.

  6. When we right-click a table in the object explorer and choose "Edit top 200 rows" (SS2008 onwards), the SQL editor is not the T-SQL script editor so SQL Prompt is unavailable. It would prove VERY helpful to have full SQL Prompt "Suggestions" functionality available.

  10. In Object Explorer you can filter tables. It would be nice if these filters could be persistent. That is that they would remain when you restart SSMS (Actually MS should fix this)

  12. I have my (personal preference) format case set to lowercase for reserved keywords, built-in functions and built-in data types. When I use snippets however, the case remains the same as the snippet was original setup - would be nice if the snippets followed the same rules as the auto-complete

    I’m going to close this request as the latest version of Prompt 6 doesn’t have a Pro version.

  17. Rather than individually defining aliases per table, add an option to use capitalised letters of tables/views to define an alias.

    eg.

    Customer = C
    mem_Membership = M

    cus_StateCustomer = SC

    aReallyLongTableName = RLTN

    view_CustomerMembership = CM

  18. I would like an option to format select to one line. And make it so that you can save multiple option sets for formatting preferences.

    For example ordinarily a mult line select is good. However in some situations such as copying select statements into a text box it needs to be formatted to be on one line.

    Being able to define mulitple option sets and creating an option to keep select on one line would resolve the issue.
