Migrations support for Git/Mercurial
It seems that right now migrations only support SVN, TFS and Vault - none of which I'm willing to use anymore. Please consider prioritizing support for Git/Mercurial.
I am delighted to let you know that this is now released! Migrations support for Git/Mercurial is available – out of beta – in SQL Source Control 5.
If you’re new to SQL Source Control, you can try it out free for 28 days by downloading it from http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-source-control/.
If you already have SQL Source Control you can get the new version via Check for updates in the Help menu of SQL Source Control inside SSMS.
You can see Migrations examples and tutorials here: https://documentation.red-gate.com/display/SOC5/Migration+script+examples
Thank you for your continued support, and please let us know if you have further feedback on this capability, or any others, in SQL Source Control!

git is a good version control system.
I like it ,and hope it can be supported earlier -
Hi,
The revised target is to get this out by the end of the year. Some unanticipated circumstances beyond the control of the project team have conspired against our earlier estimate. Our sincere apologies for the delay.

Would appreciate an update on release date for this feature.

+1 for git migrations. We could have used Mercurial for our DB projects but our other departments (Web) are already working with Git and after using it seems to fit better into our workflow.

David, Chris, Do you have a revised delivery time-frame?

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the mid-August date will not be met. My sincere apologies for this bad news. I will update this thread once we have a new estimate.

Is there any news on GIT support? It's 7 months since David said they will start investigating it...

+1 to this is a must-have feature. As a git shop I feel left out of the redgate migration fun. :(

Looking forward to this release in mid August 2012. Building the migration support into my software release schedule for 3 corporate apps. Hope all is going well.

Git support would certainly add value to our investment in redgate.

This is a really important practical feature of Red-gate Source control.
It's a shame Microsoft didn't incorporate any of the VS shell source control support in SQL 2012 that's available for Visual Studio 2010 users! I consider that criminal considering the SQL 2012 price spike. -

Needed for Mercurial.

Will support for Mercurial cover all the command line hook supported source control options or just Mercurial? We have written our own custom command line hook file to handle AccuRev integration and I'm hoping it will work for us once this is released.

Shouldn't migrations work with any source control system? It's just files right?

It's the next major feature in the backlog. We're currently wrapping up some work on improving performance, as well as implementing a new mechanism to persist the values in the 'Changed by' column in the commit tab. These tasks have taken longer than we anticipated. Once completed, Mercurial is next on the agenda. Thank you for your patience.
