Don't create alias that map to other SQL Prompt shortcuts
When writing statements like 'ssf s [tab] [enter]' to produce the statement in exhibit A based on the prompt suggestions, the alias 's' gets interpreted as another shortcut for additional keywords as seen in exhibit B. It would be nice if SQL Prompt was aware of its own shortcuts and produced some other unique alias so it didn't collide and create parser errors
--Exhibit A
SELECT * FROM config.Service AS S--Exhibit B
SELECT * FROM config.Service AS SELECT16 votesI’m going to close this request because it looks like this was only an issue when the SSMS Tools Pack was installed – the solution was to disable snippets in the tools pack. If you’re still having problems with its snippets disabled then let me know.

Enable SQL Prompt when in the SSMS editor for "right-click, edit table"
When we right-click a table in the object explorer and choose "Edit top 200 rows" (SS2008 onwards), the SQL editor is not the T-SQL script editor so SQL Prompt is unavailable. It would prove VERY helpful to have full SQL Prompt "Suggestions" functionality available.

Ideally, we’d love to respond individually to every request, but currently we can’t due to the volume of unanswered tickets. We’re clearing up our UserVoice backlog to make it easier for us as a small team to prioritize the most valuable features moving forward. Therefore, due to a lack of recent interest in this ticket, we have decided to close it.
If you feel strongly about it, we encourage you to create a new request.

Suggestions based on ranking of user input
Track how often columns are joined by the user, and suggest based on common joins (for that user), not just foreign key/name/datatypes.

Option to add WITH (NOLOCK)
I would like SQL Prompt to be able to insert WITH (NOLOCK) when writing SELECT and JOIN statements. When working with production data, the risk of forgetting to write this chunk and locking data rows is very high.

After review, the team have decided to decline this specific suggestion. But, we’ll take forward Kendra’s code analysis suggestion in the comments below.

Intellisense when writing a query with lookup table or constraint

Format MDX
It would be great to format MDX queries
48 votesAfter reviewing this suggestion the team don’t feel this will be high enough on our priority list to keep open.
MDX Studio looks like the answer for anybody looking for an editor.

Persistent table filters
In Object Explorer you can filter tables. It would be nice if these filters could be persistent. That is that they would remain when you restart SSMS (Actually MS should fix this)

Automatically run "Format SQL" on code returned from "Design Query In Editor"
Since "Design Query in Editor" results are totally unformatted, how about an option to automatically format the code returned.

Expand User-Defined Types in Table Display
The SQL Prompt display of the data columns in a table needs to be enhanced to convert any user defined types to the base data type (and size if appropropriate)

Make snippets follow case formatting
I have my (personal preference) format case set to lowercase for reserved keywords, built-in functions and built-in data types. When I use snippets however, the case remains the same as the snippet was original setup - would be nice if the snippets followed the same rules as the auto-complete

Share Options across a department
I want to be able to define department standards on the options and have the tool use those options only, and not allow each user to change them.

Format select to one line
I would like an option to format select to one line. And make it so that you can save multiple option sets for formatting preferences.
For example ordinarily a mult line select is good. However in some situations such as copying select statements into a text box it needs to be formatted to be on one line.
Being able to define mulitple option sets and creating an option to keep select on one line would resolve the issue.

Automatic Alias from Table Name
Rather than individually defining aliases per table, add an option to use capitalised letters of tables/views to define an alias.
eg.
Customer = C
mem_Membership = Mcus_StateCustomer = SC
aReallyLongTableName = RLTN
view_CustomerMembership = CM

Suggestions box / Object Definitions window positioning
Add a fixed place in the query window, e.g. at the right or bottom of it, where to show the suggestion box and/or object defintions window. Thus that the SSMS intellisense tool window is not overlayed by it.

Indent SET to line up variable name with the DECLARE
I like to indent SET so my variable names line up with DECLARE. For instance:
DECLARE @Variable int;
------- SET @Variable = 0;(the hyphens are my HTML workaround would actually be spaces)

Develop DECLARE @column_name column_type from Table
For a Table or View or UDF, either in Explorer or with the object selected in a script, right-click to develop to the clipboard or new query window a list of DECLARE statements reflecting the object's column names in the simple form:
For SS2005, separate
DECLARE @column1<<TAB>><column1_data_type>
DECLARE @column2<<TAB>><column2_data_type>For SS2008:
DECLARE @column1<<TAB>><column1_data_type>
, @column2<<TAB>><column2_data_type>3 votesThank you for your suggestion.
