A typical example is replacing values with a user code. We use internal trigrams to annotate certain elements of our objects. Having such variables allows us to reuse predefined comment snippets with automatic substitution of the user code.

The option to have a customizable placeholder is very useful, but what would be even more useful is having a global placeholder that can be used in all my snippets without having to redefine its default value in each snippet.
Or having the ability to use a snippet within another snippet.
This would facilitate snippet sharing, as each user would only have to modify one placeholder rather than modifying all the snippets containing that placeholder.
