We’ve released support for static code analysis mentioned in the comments in version 9 of SQL Prompt.
You can get the latest version of SQL Prompt from https://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-prompt/.
If there is something missing please let us know by opening a new suggestion.
Kind regards,
The Prompt Team

Please make it a feature... $$$ very thin these days. Even support is being questioned. I like the fact that RG rolled Refactor into SQL Prompt - perhaps RG could save the roll-in effort by starting the Code Analyzer as a configurable feature containing further configurations that could be turned on and off so we evaluate code with the least amount of "noise". Could be very useful tool alongside MS's BPA.

Well, it happens that one improvement we're thinking about is static code analysis, which could check for bad practice, deprecated syntax, etc. We're not sure if this is a tool in its own right, or another SQL Prompt feature.

just kidding of course but this is a basically a formatter and editing tool right? It isn't going to analyze my sql and offer performance improvements or syntax improvements.
