How can we improve SQL Prompt?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Add Colors to Database/Server Icons in Object Explorer

Coloring the Tabs is very nice. I would love to have the database/server icons be colored (or at least a small colored dot on them) so I could see at a glance in Object Explorer what server the database is on.

    • Tab colouring - Job Specific

The Tab Colouring system is brilliant, but I find that I am often working with more than one job at a time that are using the one Database. It would be of great benefit if I was able to Colour my Query Tabs based on which job they are for. i.e.: more than one colour available per Database.

      • Make Experimental feature Query tab Coloring available in Visual Studio Queries

This experimental feature works in SSMS but does not show up as an option when we use SQL Prompt 5 on Visual Studio query connection tabs.

        • tab foreground color

Allow foreground (text) color to be specified. Some background colors cannot be used because black text is not readable.

          • Show part of the sql text on the tabs hint

You could show at the tab hint, the first lines of the query typed on that tab. It'll help a lot to localize a especifi query among a lot of tabs opened.
