Share tabs between clients
Currently I'm onboarding a new laptop. I've been given a few weeks to offboard my old laptop so I'm working between the two. Additionally I sometimes work on a jump-box.
All 3 of these instances are logged in with my SQL Prompt credentials. I have a solution for sharing my Snippets, Connection Coloring, and Styles between these machines. However it would be nice also if I could re-open a tab from my old laptop on the new laptop (or the jump box) as and when I'm switching between machines.

Secure tab history
Either detect and scrub passwords from tab history, or store the history files securely so they can't be copied by backup software and viewed as plain text on the drive without a password.

Tab History - Closed tabs
It would be nice to have an ability to use either CTRL + click and SHIFT + click combos or to have check boxes there in order to select multiple closed scripts for a removal from Tab History instead of repeatedly hitting Remove context menu choice. It should save developer's time. Check boxes would be even better implementation choice, because that way you can apply context menu choice to a selection of scripts. Yay!

Don't add trivial queries
Add an option to filter what tabs are moved into history.
- SSMS autogenerated queries are of no interest.
- So are simple DML and EXEC[UTE] queries consisting of one statement.
- Successful executed ALTER {PROC|VIEW} are of no interest.
Optionally calculate a query complexity value or class to hide simple queries.

Tab ageing - automatic deletion after X days / weeks / months
Add a configuration option to automatically delete tabs by age (last executed or tab closed).
Or move them outside the normal tab history (archive them) to speed up the normal history loading and searching.

Cross symbol to Close Tab (and don't jump away afterwards)
I'm a "messy" developer who leaves dozens of tabs open while I'm working on a project, only occasionally doing a bit of a spring clean by closing what I don't need. I only just realised I can do this in Tab History by filtering for Open tabs and right-clicking on a tab entry and choosing Close from the context menu. And I love the fact that I get a preview just by hovering over the name so I can quickly decide whether or not to close each tab.
I would like to see a cross (close) symbol added to the…

REOPEN CLOSED TAB
I'd like to see a right-click on a tab or the tab-bar and have the option to "reopen closed tab" (and the ability to do that several times through working back through the order the tabs were closed). Same functionality as the major web browsers have.

Add 'Reconnect All tabs' button
Great improvement (at least for me, but I doubt I am alone with this issue) to connect all tabs on opening SSMS would be to enable to invoke this on click/keyboard shortcut.
I am working through VPN and every disconnect means I have to close and re-open the app, losing pinned tab status and tab ordering.4 votes -
Make auto savings of my open queries in case the program suddenly crashes
Sometimes my SSMS crashes. The Crash recovery of the program is not good enough. Would love to see "auto save" option that will save the open queries to history each time I'm idle for few moments. It would be much easier to recover than reproduce

SQL Prompt -> Tab History -> add datetime stamp column
Currently it shows the filename and servername, but it would really help to have the datetime of when it was executed. Sorting the columns would be an added benefit as well.

Tab History, wrong server
After doing multiple server migrations, if you open something in tab history that was for one of the previous servers. Sometimes an implicit connection to the server is still used despite not being connected to that server in Object Explorer. This has caused us to have to troubleshoot something that wasn't working anymore when it fact it is just because the connection was the old server. This forces us to copy the SQL statements to Notepad then open a new window and past so that the connection is set to the connected to server. Some kind of warning of this…

enable renaming queries that are found by the search (starred queries)
It should be possible to rename queries that are found by the search. Especially this concerns "starred queries". Unfortunately, the list of found queries lacks the small 3-dot menu that is available in the unfiltered list. And there you can rename a query if it is not currently open.
That had worked in the old tab history. And it was a very important tool for me to save my queries under meaningful names.

For tabs with an open connection, show the SPID # in the list on the left side

Save Query Results / Results History
One option that would be really neat, is to have the option to save the results of a query so I can compare the two sets side by side without having to drop them into Excel. e.g. run a query, tag it for archive, then after a time run the query again. And I'd have two Results Tabs in the output window. Results and Results(0). If that could be extended to multiple results windows, it would give me a simple way to track changes over time. And lastly, if tagged, the results would restore with the tab.

"Re-connect" right-click menu option in Tab History
TH knows the instance and DB the tab was connected to. Often, SSMS/SQL Prompt forget upon SSMS shut-down and fire-up the next day, to reconnect. (Happened 2020-10-02, so a current problem on just 4 tabs, when I often have a dozen open).
Select one or more from any of the lists ==> right-click ==> new option to "Reconnect to saved instance-DB", or "Connect all to an Instance" (Problem with that is the default to master means we likely have to visit every tab anyway - unless RG gives us a better version of the Connect dialog! Where it connects and…

Tab History Window Behaviour
Can the tab history window, when maximized, be made to consider the maximum screen size when it's popped out?
I have monitors that have different resolutions and if I pop it out on my smaller screen it doesn't fit and I loose the top of the screen with the search and tabs - but most annoyingly that also means I loose the window bar so can't control the size either!2 votes -
Tab History Add MRS
sometimes I need same string between different tabs in Tab History. each time I need to copy/paste the desired string. Would be nice if it would remember the most recent used searches same way as any Search box

Add a "Copy Filename" and "Copy Filename and Path" option to Tab History
There are times when want to be able to reference a specific file name in, for example, bug reports. This option is to allow the selected filename (or filename with path) to be copied so that is can be pasted into other documentation.

In the SQL History tab, under Advanced Search, allow us to set a default server and database
In the SQL History tab, under Advanced Search, allow us to set a default server and database or remember the last one that was chosen. I have about 30 servers in my list and most of them no longer exist. I would never want to search all servers. I would also rarely want to search another database besides the one I usually search.
